Review Policy

Reading has been one of my biggest joys since I was a child. Hand me a book and you made me undeniably happy.

So please don’t hesitate to get in contact with me if you have a good one to share in exchange for an honest review.

I will try my best to accept as much as possible but please do read this review policy in order to know how I work and what my preferences are.

My page is mainly aimed at reviewing International fiction, speculative and science fiction. Showcasing amazing presses, that are doing an outstanding job of bringing literature from everywhere around the world, and helping to re-wire our brains to see, think and feel things from an additional angle.

Books I am internally, positively screaming for:

The Genres (Wide range of fiction including my main go-to’s):

  • International (Everything, Hand me All. Benjamín Labatut, Sun-mi Hwang, Marieke Lucas Rijneveld)
  • Science fiction (Absolute favourite, I adore this sub-genre. Frank Herbert, Andy Weir, Douglas Adams, Ted Chiang you name it, I read it)
  • Speculative fiction (The Queen genre of everything. Octavia E. Butler, Margaret Atwood, Kazuo Ishiguro)
  • Literary, Modern & Contemporary fiction (Emotional and Philosophical. Haruki Murakami, Hanya Yanagihara, Mieko Kawakami)
  • Non-fiction (Physics, Autobiographies and everything Science) Katie Mack, Helen Hardacre, Peter Wohlleben)

The sub-genres (that I still read but didn’t make the main group);

  • Horror (Ancient fear of the unknown. Anne Rice, Adam Nevill, Stephen Graham Jones)
  • Mystery (The mind-boggling. Susanna Clarke, Dan Brown, Agatha Christie)
  • Thriller (Psychological and Action wormholes. Ken Follett, Tana French, Stephen Chbosky)
  • Fantasy (Myths and hobbits, witches and wands. J.R.R.Tolkien, Neil Gaiman, Philip Pullman)
  • Young adult (Freedom and adventure. Böszörményi Gyula, John Green, Janne Teller)
  • Historical fiction (Lives and places. Tracy Chevalier, Kristin Hannah, Yaa Gyasi)
  • Poetry (Flickers, thoughts and whispers. Warsan Shire, Jackie Wang, Maya Angelou)
  • Crime (All the questions. Daphne du Maurier, Ian Rankin, Philip Carlo)

There is a section on my page called: Literature and Language, where I review books that are not written in English, or I have read the non-English version of it.

Therefore, the languages I read apart from English are: Hungarian, Japanese and Spanish

If you have a book written in any of these languages and you would like me to review it please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

My shortlist of genres ( that I don’t read nor accept);

  • Romance
  • Erotica
  • Christian

I don’t have anything against these genres I just don’t read these books or be interested enough to incorporate them into my reading lists.

If your book doesn’t fit any of the supported sub-genres but is not Romance, Erotica or Christian fiction please feel free to send me your description about it, because I still might be interested in it.
